Born in 1967, Jean-Luc Moerman lives and works in Brussels. A self-taught artist, since the early 1990s he has been developing a practice centred on drawing, which spans a wide range of media: paper, photography, canvas, objects, architecture and even public spaces. His instantly recognisable line forms organic, shifting and proliferating networks that seem to develop instinctively.
His work has gained international recognition and has been exhibited at venues including Art Unlimited, Art Basel, MUDAM Luxembourg, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Calais, MoCA (Shanghai), the Flag Art Foundation (New York) and in the exhibition The Death of Marat at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Brussels. His work is also held in the Olbricht and Vanhaerents collections.
