Dany Danino creates a sensitive and multifaceted body of work, in which each technique becomes a language in its own right. From drawing—both precise and instinctive—to engraving, which delves into the material as much as it does into memory; from painting, rich in textures and contrasts; to watercolour, full of transparency and vitality, her work explores with subtlety the nuances of the visible and of emotion.
But Danino’s work is not limited to a formal exploration: it is, above all, a vision, filtered through an intimate and existential experience. More than a mere reflection of the world, it offers a multiplied and profoundly complex image of it — that of what the artist perceives, knows, imagines, retains, questions and experiences. Each creation thus becomes a space for inquiry, where perception and memory, sensation and thought intertwine.
This diversity of practice fuels a constant search for balance between mastery and
spontaneity, where the gesture engages in dialogue with light and time. For Danino, every medium becomes a space for experimentation, revealing an artistic style that is both intimate and vibrant, poised between the rigour of the line and the freedom of the gesture.
Trained through workshops and rigorous practice, he has forged his own path outside the confines of strict frameworks, trends and fashions, prioritising a direct experience of the material. Initially rooted in observational drawing, his works reflect a keen eye for reality, before evolving into freer and more expressive compositions.
Over the years, Dany Danino has taken part in numerous exhibitions, both group and solo, at renowned venues such as the I.S.E.L.P, the Botanique, the Maison des Arts, the Rops Museum, the Tournai Triennial, the C.A.C.LB, as well as the Venice Biennale. His work has also been exhibited in various galleries, notably at Pierre Hallet and the Belgian Gallery, gradually establishing a recognisable artistic signature.
His work has been exhibited throughout Belgium — notably in Mons, Namur, Liège and Antwerp — but also internationally, with numerous exhibitions in France, Finland, Russia, Italy and Germany, reflecting an ever-expanding artistic reach
His work forms part of an ongoing research process, fuelled by encounters, places and an undiminished curiosity about traditional techniques that are constantly being reinvented. At the heart of this journey, one question persists: that of the meaning of life and the human condition. His work thus becomes an exploration of the tragedy of fate — that of a man born of man, confronted with his own finitude, and destined, once again, for nothingness.
