Simon Romain, a self-taught painter and illustrator from Brussels born in 1981, expresses the intimacy of his worlds through an elegant and confident brushstroke. Inspired by the Flemish masters and naive landscapes, as well as by street art and pop culture, his works oscillate between contemplation and playfulness. He has completed artist residencies in Brittany, Toulouse, California, Geneva, and Cambodia, participated in projects such as the Zinneke Parade, and illustrated events such as the Festival of Lights in Lyon. Exhibiting regularly in Brussels, he collaborates with other artists on group exhibitions that blend painting, sculpture, and popular festivals.
