An image is a trap: it lures us into fixating on a message, on something to be communicated, which no longer corresponds to what we see.
From the Greek khaos: ‘the chaotic beginning of all things’, the exhibition offers an immersive journey where everyone is invited to travel through a continuous series of installations, questioning their own way of being and becoming in the world. In a dense and physical figurative style – Dany Danino’s trademark – these hybrid works influence, respond to and intertwine with one another. How, from one method to another—each with its own artistic specificities and unique execution—are connections forged while others are severed? How can creative coherence be maintained within an insatiable exploration of processes and themes? The answer may lie in a conception of the visible that is both cosmogonic and encyclopedic.
This exhibition features drawings, watercolors, paintings, prints, enhanced journals, and hybrid works that influence and intertwine with one another. All are executed in the dense, physical figurative style that has become the hallmark of visual artist Dany Danino.
